What we teach in Third Language

An additional language option offered alongside English and the second language — exposure-led through songs and stories in early grades, building toward reading, writing, listening and speaking by Grade 8.

Foundations
Grades 1–2
  • Introduced as exposure through songs and stories (where offered).
Build
Grades 3–5
  • Letter-sound recognition and core vocabulary
  • Simple sentence reading and writing
  • Conversational greetings and everyday exchanges
Depth
Grades 6–8
  • Short-form reading and writing across familiar topics
  • Listening comprehension of everyday audio
  • Speaking with confidence on familiar themes
Worth knowing
  • Choice of third language depends on offerings each academic year.
